I really liked season 1 and Nine and Rose's dynamic, but I was flabbergasted at how much better Ten clicked with me as The Doctor. Even when his individual episodes suck, I really enjoy watching him, with whatever companion. He's fun.
I had no idea until I googled it, but apparently,
"The Old Astronomer to His Pupil,"
by Sarah Williams.
