Naruto 124

TOO FUCKING AWESOME.

I thought those shapes speeding through the forest were ANBU, come to save them. This is so, so much better. Go Sand!

The last two episodes were just stellar. I was beginning to feel like they were dragging out the Tayuya/Kimimaro/whatsishnamescaryhornhead fights out too long, but Lee and the Sand have put the kick back into it.

Doesn't Gaara look quite spiffy in his new red outfit? And Temari, too. I sorta liked her first outfit better, but she's always awesome. Just wait for the Bondage Ferret!

I cheered so damn much when I read that in the manga after they appeared and the utterly BRUTAL way Kankurou & Temari disposed of their opponents. NO MERCY.

Kankurou's was extremely gruesome, but since his opponent was actively trying to murder the injured Kiba (who becomes ten times more attractive when he takes off his coat and looks like a young, male version of San from Mononoke Hime) and Kiba's adorable, injured, faithful puppy, I couldn't find it in myself to feel bad.

And Temari destroys her opponents with such style. Kankurou is brutal, and Gaara is inhumanly ruthless, but Temari beats the crap out of people with a really special flare.

*nodnods* It really shows you the difference between Sand and Leaf. Obviously, Gaara has been killing for a long time, but to know that Temari and Kakurou can be just as brutal really sends the message home.

They're just awesome.

The Bondage Ferret of DOOM. Wow. Who knew Temari was packing that much heat? I guess they've all gone off and trained up, anyway.

Gaara's new outfit is HOT. So's Temari's. Much cooler than Sasuke's lame goth outfit, which he seems to have ditched, anyway.

I think the universe is trying to make up for the foot injury, because I was just thinking, "Gee, I miss the Sand," and there we go, they're back, and they're awesome, and this time, they're allies. Snarky allies. (Now I see the Shika/Temari, by the way. XD I loved it when Temari told him to stuff the crap about men not being saved by women. I didn't think it was possible for me to love Temari any more than I do.)

Kirikiri Mai! :3 d00d, one wave of her fan (and a Bondage Ferret) and the whole forest was LEVELED. I knew something good had to happen when Temari used a summon, but for THAT to happen was almost overkill. But I hate Tayuya anyway so it's okay. XD

You get to see Gaara do some cool stuff now. Stuff that you wonder why he didn;t use against Naruto. Then again, he went all Shukaku, so I guess that's the trump card.

I enjoyed watching Temari smack down Tayuya a little too much--having a potty mouth as her only unique character trait didn't endear her to me much. Or any of the Sound Five, really. Unlike the Sand, I don't think we were supposed to like any of them. Except Kimimaro, because he's pretty and runs around half-naked, and I'm still not sold on him.

I might like him if he shows up at the last minute to miraculously save someone I adore from death. So far, it's worked for Iruka, Lee, Asuma, Gaara, Kankurou and Temari.

Gaara was already losing it and manifesting Shukaku when Naruto fought him--he'd started doing it way back in the first fight with Sasuke. If he'd been saner, maybe he would have tried more of the stuff he was doing with Kimimaro in 126--the sand tsunami, bringing up more sand from the ground, etc.
