Naruto 48, 50

ceruseeRock Lee's fight with Gaara might be the best so far. Rock Lee's fighting style is eye-candy--incredibly fast and agile and athletic. Too bad he was paired against a guy whose fighting technique mostly consists of standing there looking menacing, punctuated by interludes of brutal killings.
Also too bad I'm missing episode 49. ;_; ::emo tearz::
Speaking of emo tears, AUGH. 50 was...painful. I've become very fond of Rock Lee. I do sort of appreciate that so far, none of the major characters have won fights they shouldn't have (Naruto was paired up with someone he could plausibly beat; he's even self-aware enough to recognize that he can't beat, say, Neji at his current power level). But watching decent people like Hinata and Rock Lee beaten, beaten horribly, even maimed, by people who spit on them on the way out--is sort of upsetting.
I think now comes the training bonanza so everyone's relative power levels are unclear again.
