Mikke tried to get me to watch Saiyuki Reload, but it never quite took with me. I decided that it's one of those things where you kinda need to start at the beginning--not because the intricately plotted story would suffer from jumping around, but because that's how you get hooked on the characters. Telophase really likes the Saiyuki manga, and I've learned trust her opinion on manga.
There's a particulr scene in Volume 6 or 7, where Goku and Hakkai meet this demon who sorta killed them and this is the reaction:
Goku: Hey! You're the guy who killed us! You SUCK!
