To those on my flist who like pictures of people who go in public dresses as cartoon characters, check out this excellent cosplay of Princess Tutu at AnimeBoston 2007.
(And scroll down here for some gorgeous Rue cosplay at the Masquerade.)
Sadly, I didn't actually get to see any of those myself--I just stumbled across the pictures while perusing the photo threads in the forums. I was locked up in the library for most of the con, and for my money, the best costume was either the stunningly beautiful Haku who spent a lot of time in the library (alas, no pics! perhaps he or she was a wallflower), Waldo, Captain Jack Sparrow, Metal Jesus, or the Crayon Shin-chan* who stopped by to moon me.
*Techically, he was a Funimation mascot, but mad props for staying so thoroughly in character.
On a non-cosplay note, staffing the manga library was hella fun, and I really hope I'll get to run it myself next year. I'm itching to put together a catalogue and a donation wishlist and crunching the rather pathetically limited circulation data we got.
I believe this makes me a hardcore book geek? But I knew that already.
