I am not sure about how I feel about either the form or the intermittent punctuation here, but that's some strong imagery there. James Bertolino, "American Poetry."
A poetry sudden as a rain flood
down dry-wash creeks
that arrives
fist-rich
where philosophy meets dirt
where gravity pulls green strings
from sunlight
that knows the wisdom of potato
the water-solid erection
of the princely celery,
the cash-crop eloquence of wheat
a poetry that breaks silence,
a mushroom,
quaking
invincible white
