Higuri You: Angel's Coffin
(I bought this without even bothering to flip through it, because it's You Higuri! And I love her! I have to remember not to do that any more).

Higuri You: Cantarella vol. 10
(annnnny time you feel like finishing this, Higuri...

Please?).

Tezuka Osamu: Dororo vol. 3
(not much of finish to the series, but the ride is entirely too enjoyable to for me to want to complain).

Urasawa Naoki: 20th Century Boys vol. 7
(C'mon, what the fuck happened to Kenji, man? AAAARGH I need the rest of this series yesterday).

It wasn't BAD. It just wasn't particularly good (okay, I was mildly engaged by the hot mess of the prince fellow--I was expecting a flatter character than she gave us--but overall, it just played out in a predictable way), and while I still like her art, it now rarely smacks me in the face and makes me take a deep breath, which is a feeling I used to get with her art all the time. I do still get it from Cantarella, though, which is like omg You Higuri's Art Amped Up to 11!! Basically, I just finished it thinking, yeah, I didn't need to buy that.

(Cantarella is still one of the prettiest comics I've ever laid eyes on, and for its levels of drama/melodrama/crazy incest/You Higuri, What Have You Done To History?!, it remains a must-read for me. I am pleased to know that the hiatus is over in Japan! Go me, waiting like a year to read the latest volume, which has been sitting on my shelf so frickin' long I had to skim through volume 9 again just to remember who all the newer characters were and what the hell they were doing.)

I don't suppose you've read Crown, the one she was working on while she had Cantarella on hiatus? Is it worth a look? (I already know Gakuen whatever is probably not worth it, since it's the kind of BL I don't care for, she only does the art, and at a quick glance, the art did not look to have that insanely sumptuous quality present in her historical/fantasy comics.)

I've read the first volume, and plan to read ore. Not amazing, but fun.
