Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] fani. I'm too lazy to tag people, so whatever. Up yours, meme rules.

1. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up.
My computer. My stuffed corgi. Nana volume 15 on the bed. The bed. My entire bedroom, and its many, many objects.

2. How do you style your hair?
Curls to a little above my shoulders. On a day off or an off day, in a ponytail or a bun; on an off day when I need good hair, in curly pigtails.

3. What are you wearing now?
Sweatpants, bodyshaper, mauled t-shirt, sweater, cat.

4. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A librarian! Probably a cataloguer.

5. The best thing to happen of you as late?
I did very well on a difficult assignment that most of my class bombed. And it's spring! I love spring in New England only a little less than fall in New England.

6. What is one word you would use to describe yourself?
Just a one is so limiting as to be sort of meaningless, but...independent.

7. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Um...hmm. Broadly? Comics. All comics. Murder mysteries written in the first half of the twentieth century that are more witty/intelligent/clever than noir-ish or hardboiled, bonus points for evocative urban settings. And, especially at this moment: Frasier (I can never decide who bowls me over more, Kelsey Grammer or David Hyde Pierce). Stargate SG-1 (Daniel! And, TEAM). Leo and Greenlee from All My Children way back in 2001 (thank you, YouTube!)--that one recurs from time to time; for some reason, it's on again now. Manga. Nana. Getting my hands on comics made by Naoki Urasawa. Getting through Subject Cataloging alive and sane. Getting through DDC alive and sane. Finding a part-time job for the summer.

8. What's the last thing you ate today?
Strawberries with sugar. Hooray, it's spring! I've been under a self-imposed stricture against eating out-of-season produce this academic year, and I've been missing certain fruits and vegetables a lot. Which I think is how nature intended it.

9. What's your Last Supper/Death row meal?
Something delicious. Whatever I have a craving for. I love food, all kinds, and I don't have a single favorite food any more than I have a favorite musical piece or book. I suppose it would probably entail a glass of red wine, if that was an option.

10. What websites do you visit when you go online?
E-mail. A yahoo page with feeds. The online comics I read, which is about a dozen, plus a feed of some syndicated strips. LJ. A weather thingie. A variety of comics sites--Journalista, Precocious Curmudgeon, MangaBlog, Hooded Utilitarian are the ones I try to hit most days.

11. What's the last thing you read?
Pluto volume 1. Oh my god, my life is complete. Wait, there's volume two over there...

12. What are you listening to now?
It's on my iPod Shuffle, so I'm not sure, but I know it's a ballet piece, and it might be by Khatchaturian.

13. What do you think about before you go to bed?
That I have four weeks left in the semester to read five books on subject cataloging. God.

14. What was the last CD you bought?
I'm too lazy to boot up iTunes to see...probably Andrew Bird, Noble Beast. The man has a genius.

15. How much time do you spend on the internet?
Not sure. It varies from day to day--probably at least a couple of hours on most days, generally a bit more.

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
Piano. I spent eight years not getting anywhere on the violin, which is reason enough to think I'm never going to be a musician, but I'd love to be decent on the piano--in the last few years, I've sort of fallen in love with the sound of it as a classical instrument, besides which, I like the fantasy of being able to go up any random piano in a public place and make music, alone, with friends, among strangers. My sister said she'd rather play the guitar, because you can take your guitar around with you everywhere and play it at parties, which I think illustrates our fundamental personality differences--she wants to go to where the people are; I want them to come to me, but if they don't, I'm content to be alone.

17. Anything exciting as of late?
Aside from that project thingie? No, not really, at least not since January.

18. What are you watching right now?
Frasier, season 9. Rock me, David Hyde Pierce.

19. If you could go back in time and change 3 things (in your life), what would you change?
I wouldn't drop the leash. I'd have taken the cataloging job at my alma mater. And that guy I met when I was seventeen who never called me--I would have asked for his number, instead of just giving him mine. Just to see what might have happened.
